DAILY REFLECTION

The powerful preaching of the Word by Jesus was amplified that even tax collectors and sinners draw near to Him hanging onto every word he uttered. Displeased with what they saw, the Pharisees and Scribes, who felt righteous and entitled to listen to Jesus, complained,

Due to the increasing reputation of Jesus, his followers were multiplying in number as well. To this concern, he had set the parameters for those who would like to follow him closely, “If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple” (v. 26).
